About me

I received my Hons. B.A., M.A., and Ph.D. degrees in Clinical Psychology from York University and have completed various clinical internships in Psychology, Neuropsychology and Cognitive Neurology programs within hospital settings, including Baycrest Centre for Geriatric Care and Sunnybrook and Women's Health Sciences Centre. I have also served as a staff psychologist at St. John's Rehabilitation Hospital and have held or hold visiting research clinician scientist positions at Sunnybrook and Women's College Health Science Centre in the Departments of Cognitive Neurology and Medical Neuroimaging, Baycrest Centre for Geriatric Care in the Departments of Psychology and Behavioural Neurology, the Toronto Rehabilitation Institute and the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health in the Department of Psychiatry. I am currently a tenured Associate Professor of Psychology in the Department of Psychology at the University of Toronto Scarborough. I am a member of the Ontario, Canadian and American Psychological Association, as well as the International Neuropsychological Society, American Academy of Clinical Neuropsychology and the National Academy of Neuropsychology. I have been active in research and have well over 200 peer-reviewed publications in the fields of psychological and neuropsychological assessment, psychopathology, brain imaging and cognitive rehabilitation, and have given invited addresses on clinical psychology and neuropsychology at national and international meetings. I have received research grant support from several federal and provincial funding agencies and am the winner of a Premier's Research Excellence Award and a recipient of a Research Award from the American Psychological Association in Clinical Neuropsychology. I have also served as a grant reviewer for provincial and federal funding agencies. I am currently a Consulting Editor for The Clinical Neuropsychologist, and have moreover, served as an editorial referee for numerous peer reviewed research journals in the fields of psychology, neuropsychology, neurology, psychiatry, assessment, psychopharmacology, neuroimaging, and statistical and research methodology. I have also served as an academic supervisor in my role as an Associate Professor at the University of Toronto for numerous undergraduate and graduate students. I am also certified in undertaking catastrophic examinations using the AMA Guides to the Evaluation of Permanent Impairment. To this end, I have completed the CMCC AMA Guides to Impairment Rating: Musculoskeletal, Neurological Systems, course program. I also am in the progress of completing my requirements for the Program of Insurance Medicine and Medico-legal Expertise with the Universite de Montreal, Faculty of Medicine. For the record, I am also a member of the College of Psychologists of Ontario and licensed to practise within the province of Ontario in both Psychology and Neuropsychology. I am listed with the Canadian Register of Health Service Providers in Psychology.
