Welcome to the University of Toronto Scarborough (UTSC). Founded in 1964, and situated on the picturesque Highland Creek Valley, UTSC is a thriving campus, where more than 305 faculty members teach more than 10,000 students.
Guided by a new strategic vision, we are reinforcing our ability to provide a distinct university experience in the Ontario post secondary system. Currently, our academic departments are developing exciting plans to solidify a strong identity for UTSC. Academic priorities are driving the look and feel of the campus, and there is an increased focus on new and emerging areas of scholarship at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.
Through our 13 academic departments and 2 academic centres, UTSC offers a wide range of undergraduate programs. We have over 100 specialist programs and over 60 major programs leading to a BSc or BA degree. We also offer specialist programs that lead to the Bachelor of Business Administration degree (BBA), and participate in the Concurrent Teacher Education Program (CTEP) as well as joint programs with Centennial College.
We are a leader in co-operative education; providing co-op education opportunities in all our departments. As part of our Strategic Plan there will be an increased emphasis on experiential learning in curricular, co-curricular and extra-curricular areas.
Building on its core undergraduate programs, UTSC is committed to expanding its graduate and research activities. We currently offer two graduate programs - the Master of Environmental Science (M.Env.Sc.), and the Doctor of Environmental Science (Ph.D.), and have plans to develop new UTSC-based graduate programs.
