Here some rules ragarding the ecoPARK spot usage and enforcement. For further details, please refer to the official ecoPARK guidelines or contact the U of T Scarborough Parking Office.
- ecoPark decals only allow the eligible vehicles on which they are displayed to park in ecoPark spots within a parking lot they are already authorized to park in.
- Do not try to place an ecoPark decal on a non-ecoPark eligible vehicle.Parking Enforcement staff are aware of vehicles eligible to park in ecoPark spaces and will issue a parking ticket to unauthorized vehicles.
- ecoPark-eligible vehicle without an ecoPark decal will be ticketed.
- An ecoPark-eligible vehicle with a valid parking permit and an ecoPark decal is not restricted to ecoPark spots. It can park in any spot in which the parking permit is valid.
- eco-Park reserved spaces are reserved 24/7 for authorized vehicles only.

- Q: My
vehicle has FlexFuel, why is it not eligible for ecoPARK?
A: FlexFuel vehicles can use a wide range of fuels, from regular gasoline to ethanol. Because ethanol fuel is not widely available at most gas stations, and there is no guarantee that people will use ethanol if it is available, it is likely that FlexFuel vehicles are running on fossil fuels most of the time. This program is structured to provide preferred parking to only those vehicles that are without a doubt emitting less than 140 g CO2/km.
- Q: I am considering purchasing a car that is eligible for a rebate
from the Transport Canada ecoAUTO program, will I be able to
participate in the ecoPark program?
A: Maybe. Some, but not all, ecoAUTO eligible cars are also eligible to participate in ecoPark at UTSC. To see if your car is ecoPark eligible, check the list provided here. UTSC has set its own standards, which are more stringent than the ecoAUTO standards. For a full description of our standards, please read the full ecoPARK guidelines. You may also have an older car for which you did not receive and ecoAUTO rebate, but that is eligible to participate in the ecoPark program. Again, please consult the list. In general, the ecoAUTO and ecoPark program are completely separate, so please do not assume that participating in one will enable you to participate in the other.
- Q: My
parent/spouse is the owner of the car that I drive to U of T Scarbrough,
is that going to be a problem?
A: As long as you can provide the proof of ownership of an eligible ecoPARK vehicle and that you display the ecoPARK decal on the eligible vehicle's windshield, that should not be a problem. You do not need to be the owner of the vehicle.
