In winter 2007-2008, all incandescent light bulbs on campus were replaced with compact fluorescent light bulbs (CFLs), where possible. If all bulbs were in use simultaneously, this would represent a reduction in electrical demand of 55kW. If all bulbs were used for 8 hours a day, 260 days a year (i.e. weekdays), it would represent an energy savings of 114,400 kWh per year.
