The Centre for Ethnography

CE is the hub of ethnographic research at the University of Toronto. Our emphasis is on qualitative methodology, the practice of ethnographic fieldwork and the production of ethnographic monographs and articles. Research maintains a focus on the study of the diversity of forms of settlement and citizenship in the Greater Toronto Area and its culturally diverse communities, with projects extending more broadly beyond our borders to link up the study of immigrant communities with their countries of origin. We host yearly seminars and encourage conversations on a diversity of other topics. We will be continually fostering an active collaboration with colleagues from other universities and serve as a base for visiting scholars and post-docs.
