Political Science

Welcome to the Department of Political Science Scarborough. Created as a self-standing department in July 2012, Political Science has offered undergraduate programs since the Scarborough campus of the University of Toronto opened in the late 1960s. For the past four decades, our faculty and our courses have been giving students the knowledge and tools they need to understand the critical issues that affect all our lives. Whether it is globalization, corruption and violence, international conflict and cooperation, democracy and authoritarianism, ethnic and religious conflicts, ancient and modern philosophy, domestic or global public policy, or some other topic that interests you, our faculty offer courses that will satisfy your curiosity and nourish your mind.

The Department offers undergraduate Specialist, Major, and Minor programs in Political Science. It is also responsible for the interdisciplinary Major and Major Cooperative programs in Public Policy. More details about these programs can be found by going to the Programs section of this website.

You can also learn more about our award-winning faculty and their teaching and research interests under the Faculty section. As you will discover, their expertise extends well beyond Canada to cover all regions of the globe.
