Research Interests:
The economics of the family, of women, and children and government policies towards the family.  In particular, the economics of early childhood education and care/child care.  The effects of good quality early childhood education and care on child development and on the employment status of mothers and fathers.  The determinants of costs, of quality, of wages.  The role of nonprofit status in affecting the costs and quality of child care services provided.  The taxation of single-earner and two-earner families and the Child Care Expense Deduction.  The costs and benefits of early childhood education and care.

Teaching Interests:
Economics of the Family, Women and Work, Labour Economics, Introductory Economics, Intermediate Microeconomics, Public Economics, Industrial Organization, Economics of the Internet and E-Commerce.

Economist for Special Parliamentary Committee on Child Care (1986-87) Consultant

Economist to federal, provincial and municipal governments and nonprofit
