Welcome!

We are a community of scholars and artists who teach across 21 programs and initiatives. Our research interests and specializations vary widely, even radically, yet what unites us is a dedication to innovative teaching grounded in multidisciplinary conversations and connections.

We are committed to an intellectually vibrant, critically aware, socially-engaged study of the humanities. From Arts Management and Studio, to History and French, to Global Asia Studies, our programs and initiatives provide a unique focus on the theoretical and the practical and how each informs the other.

Our goal is to graduate students with the critical thinking and literacy skills necessary to become intellectually engaged global citizens in a wide range of possible careers.

Our synergy comes from the leadership, motivation and scholarship of our faculty, plus the dynamism of our students' intellectual and creative energy. Together, faculty and students continue to make a mark on the university as we reach out to the broader publics of Scarborough, Toronto, and the world community beyond.
