My current work focuses on the politics of urban and metropolitan growth and in particular on contemporary and historical efforts to create new capacities to make politics in response to urbanization in the United States and Canada. In addition, I focus on urban and regional planning as public policy. In this realm, I am preparing an in-depth analysis of the Ontario government’s Growth Plan for the Toronto region. Finally, I am interested in political and electoral geography. In particular, I am using GIS-based techniques to analyze the determinants of turnout and candidate support on Canadian municipal elections.
