UNIVERSITY ALCOHOL POLICY

 

The University of Toronto takes pride in its achievements as an outstanding publicly funded institution renowned for its academic excellence and its standards of social accountability.

The University views its obligations as a host and provider of licensed services as a serious responsibility with a commitment to fostering mature attitudes towards alcohol use. Over and above adherence to statutory regulation of alcohol service, the University of Toronto has a number of policies and practices designed to enhance the comfort and safety of guests at licensed events.

ORDERS

 

To ensure adequate product, staffing and timely delivery, orders should be placed 2 weeks in advance of an event. Orders must be placed through campus mail or e-mail at: pjhsmith@utsc.utoronto.ca

 

Information required to process the order includes: the date of the event, the location, the starting and ending times, the number of guests anticipated, and general description of the menu required.

 

Orders placed by U of T academic or administrative departments must provide the FIS account information at the time of the order.

 

Orders placed on behalf of organizations or groups outside of the University must be placed with the Retail & Conference Services Office at 416/287-7369.

 

In the case of events which will take place in a facility which is not licensed, additional time will be required. For further information on facilities and capacities, please contact the Manager, Food and Beverage Services

 

SUBSTITUTIONS

 

Should significant product price increases occur, or, an item become unavailable from the supplier, an attempt will be made to offer a substitute of similar quality and price.

 

 

SPECIAL ORDERS

 

Products not listed in the price list may be ordered.  A minimum of three weeks notice may be required to obtain a quote on the cost of the special order. Items on the standard product list will be subject to extra charges depending on the nature of the product ordered.
