Concurrent Teacher Education Program

Educators and Community

The following programmes require students to complete field experiences:
  • Child and Adolescent Development -12-20 hours
  • Equity and Diversity in Education – 12-20 hours
  • Inclusive Education course -12-20 hours

Who can host a Concurrent Education Student?

The 12- 20-hour field experience can occur in a variety of settings. While the 12-20-hour field experience associated with the Child and Adolescent Development in Education, and Inclusive Education courses can be arranged in a school or a day care setting, the 12-20-hour field experience for the Equity and Diversity in Education course can occur in a community organization or agency.

Why would you offer a field experience to a Concurrent Teacher Education Student in your school or organization

  • Your school or establishment will have the opportunity to become connected with the University of Toronto, which can lead to direct and indirect benefits to your programs. For example, during the field experience linked to the Equity and Diversity in Education course students can be directly involved with assisting children and young people in a learning environment.
  • Schools and community organizations, and/or agencies that welcome Concurrent Education Students will be compensated for hosting our students. The stipend is paid directly to the organization to support their work.
  • Your organization, can be involved in the preparation of future teachers in our schools, and influence their evolving teaching strategies. Our students benefit from field experiences as these experiences shape their future teaching careers.
