UTSC Student Crime Stoppers is a partnership of the
community, media and police which will provides the U of T community
with a proactive program for students to anonymously assist police
in solving crime on campus. Cash rewards are offered to students
who provide information that leads to an arrest or other successful
conclusions.
The SUCCESS of the UTSC Student Crime Stoppers Program
depends on maintaining the ANONYMITY of the tipster in ALL cases
and support from the administration, faculty and the student body.
Creating and maintaining a safe and secure environment
at the University is everyone's business.
The UTSC Student Crime Stoppers Police liaison is Corporal
Chris Moy. A senior student oversees a student committee of volunteers,
who meet on a regular basis to discuss crime on campus and ways
to promote the program. From time to time Student Crime Stoppers
Alerts will be circulated by campus media.
Alerts will also be accessible through the UTSC
POLICE WEBSITE and will be distributed
on the Police Incident Summary and can be found in The Underground
newspaper. Alert e-mails will also be sent out to students, staff
and faculty.
