Name:Coptic Christian Student Association
Purpose: The purpose of the Christian Coptic Student Association is to gain knowledge and understanding of the Christian Coptic Orthodox religion. This association is established to allow the Coptic community within the university to come together and share ideas, thoughts and knowledge of the religion through biblical readings, guest speakers, group discussions and activities. The purpose of this association is solely a spiritual one, although anyone who is interested is welcome to attend meetings. Our association benefits undergraduates by finding people with similar interests to interact with, and can further establish academic facilitation.
Membership:
- To become a member of the CCSA, you must be a student or faculty member at the University of Toronto at Scarborough, St. George or Erindale Campus. Anyone attending these Campuses is welcome to join.
- To run for an executive position a member of the association must nominate the person they think is suitable as an executive for a specified position (a self-nomination will be considered), then the members will have a formal election to vote for the nominees. The person with the majority of votes will gain executive position. Elections for executive positions will be held before the beginning of each academic year, during the first three weeks of September.
- There are no compulsory membership fees.

Board of Executives:
The President shall oversee all executive functions including:
- Act as the representative on behalf of the association.
- Ensure that all other executives of the board perform their duties.
- Have an updated list of names of members their phone numbers, e-mail addresses and mailing lists.
- Inform members of any events that would be taking place.
The Vice President shall:
- Assist the President with his/her duties.
- Represent the President in his/her absence.
The Treasurer shall:
- Preserve all financial records.
- Process any fiscal proceeds from activities.
- Attain official receipts for any incurred expenses.
The Cultural Representatives shall:
- Prepare events; places, times, etc.
The Secretary shall:
- Keep a record of all meetings.
Finances:
Members will attain any finances that need to be acquired for any event the association is planning to hold, beforehand. SCSC shall maintain full control over the fiscal operations, and the group adheres to the financial by-laws according to the F.P.M (section 4.1).
Meetings:
Meetings for executives will be held once every two weeks. Meetings for members will be held once a week at a specified time that is convenient for all members and executives. Notification will be given a week in advance, before meetings are held.
Elections:
Elections for executive positions will be held before the beginning of each academic year, during the first three weeks of September, or any period when an executive needs to be replaced. (To be elected as an executive read the above note made under 'MEMBERSHIP' on page 1)
Amendments:
There are no current amendments for the CCSA at this time.
If CCSA decides to make any amendments they will be carried out after 2/3 of the majority has approved. If any amendments should be made the CCSA will notify the Office of Student Affairs upon the implementation.
Food Handling:
The CCSA conforms to Provincial and Municipal Health Regulations when any of our events are held at the University of Toronto Scarborough Campus including sale and/or service of food products.
