Linda Pearson

Assistant Registrar
Secretariat and Scheduling

2002 marked the year for Linda’s early retirement and also appropriately acknowledged her as the third recipient of the Patrick Phillips Staff Award for her long, dedicated and exceptionally competent service to U of T Scarborough since 1971.

The individuals who had nominated her for the award, as follows best summarize Linda’s outstanding contribution. "Her work as secretary to numerous college committees and to College Council, together with her immensely able handling of the complex scheduling requirements of a large academic community, ensured the smooth functioning of the institution."

Linda had an institutional memory showing exemplary mastery of university rules and regulations. She displayed great awareness of procedural and substantive issues, providing invaluable advice, based upon exceptionally good judgement, to numerous committee chairs.

She could be counted upon to understand problems from a multiplicity of different perspectives and thus assisted in finding a proper balance.

She displayed a formidable combination of dedication, competence, good sense and integrity. She set an almost "one of a kind" standard in terms of professionalism and fairness.

Upon her retirement, Linda’s immediate plans were to pursue her passion for golf. Her friends and colleagues at U of T Scarborough wish her a long and happy retirement.
