Personal Training

Personal Training at UTSC is offered to our students, staff and faculty, alumni, and community members of our Fitness and Racquet Club exclusively. Free consultations are available to assist you in choosing the package that is right for you. Contact Ramona Seupersad at (416) 287-7092 to book your consulation today.

Personal training sessions allow you to receive individualized attention from a certified Personal Trainer for an ongoing time period. All personal training sessions include an initial consultation and personalized program design. Each session is one hour.

Services

Fitness Assessment

Our Certified Fitness Consultants will use a national protocol to identify your strengths and areas requiring development. Appointments are 60-90 minutes in length and are followed by a consultation to explain the results and help you set achievable goals.

Full Assessment Includes:

  • Resting Heart Rate & Blood Pressure
  • Body Composition, Back Fitness, Aerobic Component
  • Musculoskeletal Fitness (Muscular Strength and Endurance and Flexibility)
  • Health related counselling and advice

Nutritional Counselling

Our Nutrition & Wellness Specialist will analyze your eating and lifestyle habits, from a self evaluation and nutrition log. Using the Canada Food Guide approach, and considering your lifestyle, an action plan will be developed to help change your eating habits to healthy ones. Sessions are 60-90 minutes long.

Individual Sessions

If you are looking to change your exercise routine, interested in learning more about fitness or just want to know how to keep your exercise sessions "fresh", these sessions will definitely benefit you!

Your personal trainer will work with you to implement a fitness program suitable for your fitness needs and goals. Bring your questions and your enthusiasm.

Group Training

Your trainer will design and implement a training program that suits the needs of both you and your training partner(s). This allows you to develop a relationship with your training partner(s) in which you motivate one another to learn and develop fitness skills together.

Please inquire about prices. All sessions are one hour long.

Prerequisite: A common fitness goal among pairs is necessary.

Getting Started
Ideal for those new to fitness or getting back on track. This package includes 1 fitness assessment and 3 personal training sessions.

Summer Heat
Get active this summer! Feel the difference with this progressive 7-week program.

This package includes 12 personal training sessions (twice a week), 1 nutrition counselling session, and 1 fitness assessment.

Specialty Programs

Post-Rehab
Have you recently had an accident, sports injury or are you just coming out of therapy and not sure where to go from here? Your post rehab specialist will design an appropriate program to help you get back to a functional life and/or a specific sport or activity.

Physically Challenged/Health Conditions
The Department of Athletics and Recreation is working closely with "AccessAbility" services at UTSC to help individuals who are physically challenged or have health conditions. Please book a consultation with our certified trainers to help develop a program suitable to your needs. Sport Conditioning

Do you feel like you need some extra height in your jump and some power to your sprint? We will design a personal program for you consisting of the following components: weight training, speed, agility, balance, plyometrics, and more.

Flexibility Training

You'll receive an individualized program using a wide range of safe and effective stretching techniques, both passive and active, such as Yoga, PNF stretching, myofascial release and breathing techniques.

This program will help to relieve muscle tension, improve muscle balance/posture, increase blood flow, improve physical performance and reduce the risk of injuries from sport or work.
