What is the Class of 2011 Campaign?

This year, the senior class donations will go directly to the creation of the Class of 2011 scholarship in support of students completing first year. Your donation to the Graduating Class Gift Campaign is a gift to the future generations of students who will benefit from your contributions.  As a UTSC student, you benefited from the generosity of those who came before you, now you have the opportunity to follow in the steps of UTSC alumni and enhance the experience of future students. Gifts help provide financial aid to current and future students, fund scholarships and student activities, and improve life on campus.

Why should I give back when I already pay full tuition; have loans to repay, etc.?

We are supporting UTSC students; much like the way in which alumni, friends and students have supported our class. Our gift will serve as a lasting reminder that we are students today, but we will be part of the UTSC family forever. Let’s take the opportunity to make an impact and show our appreciation for all we’ve learned and experienced while at UTSC.

Don’t other causes need my money more? Your gift to the Graduating Class Gift Campaign does not preclude your active engagement with other causes.  We hope that philanthropy will be something that is a part of your future no matter what the cause.  Giving to the Class of 2011 Campaign shows your class pride – and means a great deal to the future classes.

Do other colleges at University of Toronto do something similar?

Yes, most colleges provide their graduating students the opportunity to give back to their college.

How much should I give? We are asking each graduating student to donate a minimum of $20.11 in commemoration of our graduation year. But every gift—no matter what size—is important to the Graduating Class Gift Campaign!

Students who make gifts of $250 or more, either as a single gift or monthly gifts of $20.84, will become members of the Young Leader to Leader Society.  The Young Leader to Leader Society recognizes the generous annual contributions made by students and young alumni (graduates of the last decade). Included in the recognition will be an invitation to the annual Donor Recognition Event, Watts Lecture, and other prominent UTSC events held throughout the year.

What projects can I donate to?

Scholarships: Your donation will ensure that deserving first-year students receive the financial support they need to pursue their studies.
