Celebrate ability on Saturday, December 3rd, 2011!
In 1992 the United Nations General Assembly passed a resolution declaring that December 3rd each year will be the International Day of Persons with Disabilities. December 3rd is a day to acknowledge and celebrate the ability of people with disabilities and also to increase awareness of disability issues in the community.
The United Nations’ theme for this year’s observance is: “Together for a better world for all: Including persons with disabilities in development”. For more information please visit the United Nations Enable website or the City of Toronto local listing of events.
