Self-advocacy is an important part of University life for students with a disability. Talking to your Professors and/or your Disability Counsellor early in each semester about your needs and any perceived concerns can establish the groundwork for a constructive and positive student/professor relationship. Often this is all that is required for adjustments for lectures, tutorials and assessment tasks to be agreed upon and implemented.
