Will I receive the same accommodations at UTSC as I did in high school?
How do I register with AccessAbility Services?
I have been accepted to UTSC based on special consideration. What do I do now?
What financial supports are available to students with disabilities?
Who will have access to my AccessAbility Services records?
Not necessarily. University is a very different environment from high school. As such, your previous accommodations may not be sufficient to support you in this environment or some supports may be delivered in a different fashion.
Students can call the office at 416-287-7560 or email ability@utsc.utoronto.ca to book an appointment with a Disability Counsellor to assess their accommodation needs. For more information on how to register, please visit our Students Newly admitted to U of T web page.
Once students have received their letter of acceptance from U of T Scarborough we strongly advise them to contact AccessAbility Services to register as soon as possible. Please note that any documentation sent with your university application for special consideration is not automatically sent to AccessAbility Services. Students are advised to provide the service with a separate copy.
There are a number of scholarships and bursaries available exclusively for students with disabilities. In order to be eligible for many of these awards it is required that the student apply for OSAP. We strongly recommend that all students with disabilities apply for OSAP even if they’ve been told that they are not eligible. An official decision must be made regarding OSAP eligibility before other sources of funding can be pursued.
You can find more information on financial assistance by visiting our Financial Resources web page.
Our records are completely confidential. Students will not be identified on their transcripts as being registered with AccessAbility Services.
